The Greene Turtle Lacrosse Club of Bel Air is excited to announce tryouts for the 2018 team for this upcoming summer. This team will be comprised of current 5th graders and will consist of approximately 20 players. They will practice (Mon. and Wed.) in the months of June and July will participate in the St. Paul’s Gatorfest Tournament located at St. Paul’s School for Girls on June 24-26th and likely an additional local tournament (TBD) . This is a great opportunity to extend their lacrosse season and for upcoming players to experience club lacrosse and everything our female ex-collegiate player coaching staff has to offer.

Our 2018 team will be led by Suzanne Taylor, a long time Bel Air resident, past Towson State player, past Skywalker and Bel Air High School coach, and her daughters, Kelly Taylor, the current JV lacrosse coach at Patterson Mill High School and former Mount St. Mary’s player, and Sydney Taylor, who is currently a collegiate lacrosse player at Virginia Tech University. Joining them will be Tayler Kuzma, who is currently playing at Ohio State University. She will be a volunteer coach and will join the trio in mid-June! With four collegiate players two of which have also coached high school, this is a VERY experienced and dedicated coaching staff!

Tryout Dates: May 23 from 6-8pm and May 25 from 6pm-8pm
Tryout location: 355 Granary Rd, Forest Hill, MD 21050
All candidates must attend at least one tryout date, although two is preferred. Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete the registration.

There will be no tryout fee. If your daughter makes the squad, the fee for participation is $160.00. This fee includes 8-10 practices at Hart to Heart area fields (355 Granary Rd, Forest Hill, MD 21050), practice shorts and shirt and the Gatorfest tournament fee. Depending on the second tournament, there may be a small additional fee to cover the additional registration.

NEMS Team Tryouts Announced For 2018 Team

The NEMS Board of Directors is pleased to announce the dates, times and location of tryouts for the 2018 Team (6th graders in Fall 2011).

The team will be trying out on Wednesday, June 1st and Thursday, June 2nd from 6 – 8 pm at Rutledge Fields in Jarrettsville(3969 Norrisville Road 21084). Rain date June 8th and June 9th. They will practice several times over the summer/fall and will participate in one Fall tournament. The “official” summer tournament schedule will begin in the summer 2012. There will also be an opportunity to participate as a team in a fall indoor league.

To facilitate the registration process, please download and complete the registration form and release form available under the handouts tab on the left. All players trying out must bring their own equipment and have a valid U.S. Lacrosse membership to participate for insurance reasons. U.S. Lacrosse memberships can be obtained online at www.uslacrosse.org . A $10 fee will be required from players participating in tryouts to cover field expenses associated with the use of the facilities. Please continue to review our website for current information, as this will be our primary method of communication. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in.

As a reminder, all players must tryout annually and be physically present to be considered for selection to a team. For players with previous commitment (i.e. MYLA lacrosse game), please honor that commitment prior to participating in out tryouts. You should, however, maximize your time at tryouts to allow evaluators the maximum opportunity to assess your abilities.

THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SPOTS AVAILABLE FOR THE 2017 TEAM. PLEASE COME ON THE ABOVE DATES IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT. PLEASE PRE-REGISTER TO KELLEY SANEMAN AS WELL. REGISTRATION INFORMATION IS IN THE HANDOUTS SECTION. A CHECK FOR $375 TO COVER THE SUMMER 2011 FEES AS WELL AS THE $10 FIELD FEE WILL ALSO BE DUE. UNIFORMS ARE $60.
